FIA Side impact Regulation 2001 Impact measuring system

Application - The proposed FIA side impact test for 2001 season requires that the force of the side impact trolley is distributed more evenly over the chassis side structure than has previously been the case, to meet this regulation TNC ELECTRONICS has worked closely with the test houses to introduce a force measuring impact test system. The impact measuring plate can be used for a variety of other dynamic impact tests, where a multi-channel measuring plate or wall is needed. It can be mounted as a single system to cover an area of 400mm x 500mm or as a collective to cover a much larger impact area such as a wall.

Description - The Impact load measuring plate is manufactured in such a way that 4 off Impact faces (Tiles) of 199.5 mm x 249.5 mm x 38 mm are mounted via load cells to a single back plate manufactured from 38 mm thick Aluminium 396 mm x 496 mm. Each Impact Tile is mounted on a 4 off Load Cell system which comprise of 2 off Double Shear Beam style Load Cells designed in such a way that each end of the beam is wired as an independent Load Cell.

Powerful system resources - With sixteen measuring channels per system and a speed response of over 25kHz TNC's Impact measuring system, can be integrated to most data acquisition equipment, or if necessary TNC can work closely with our clients to manufacture or supply the data logging software/hardware necessary to achieve the satisfactory results. With load cell errors of less than 0.1% FSO, and with an overload capability of up to 400% of full scale. The Impact system is both high in accuracy and durability. Each system has a total weight of 75Kg, so can be easily moved to achieve the optimum loading configuration.

Calibration facilities - TNC ELECTRONICS utilising its facility of test machines with conformity up to 3000KN can pre-calibrate the sixteen load cell channels, and provide full calibration documentation so that acquisition equipment can be set up on-site with minimal time delay.
